ILLUME 2026: TED Talk on the Evolution of Technology

Sopra Steria India recently launched the 2026 edition of ILLUME, a long-standing initiative designed to foster knowledge sharing through engaging and insightful sessions. Over the years, ILLUME has served as a platform to bring together diverse perspectives and experiences, and this year continues that legacy centred around the theme “Information Technology: Past, Present, and Future”, aiming to explore the evolution of technology across key areas such as databases, user interfaces, cloud transformation, and emerging innovations like artificial intelligence.

During the session, he shared his insights relevant to professionals across functions, including developers, analysts, managers, and sales teams. He emphasised that “While technology continues to evolve, true impact lies in understanding the business context behind it”. 

One of the highlights of the session was an insightful discussion on the evolving nature of white-collar work in the age of AI. Through a compelling framework titled, “The White-Collar Shift: Industrialising Knowledge Work” he illustrated how human expertise is being augmented by AI systems to transform fragmented knowledge into structured, scalable organisational intelligence.

The model showcased how individual insights and expertise are synthesized through AI-driven systems to create reusable, enterprise-level knowledge assets, enabling organisations to scale intelligence and decision-making more effectively. This perspective reinforced the growing importance of combining human expertise with AI capabilities to drive future-ready business outcomes.

The session concluded with this mindset, every wave of technology, from legacy systems to modern AI, can be embraced as an opportunity for growth and innovation.
